amycurl and marymary, I don't care if it's just the three of us blabbing about this. Because like marymary, I am DYING to talk about this episode of my other favorite show. There: I said it, and I'm glad I did. (OK, now I'm feeling bad, as if other shows I like would feel bad about that phrasing, so let me amend: As of 8 p.m. Sunday (sniff), "The

That was unbelievable. I, in fact, didn't believe it when I saw it at first. I am in such awe of actors who can be that "in the moment" to let their bodies react honestly to what their character's supposed to be feeling! That made no sense, so just Word.
"-- Jan being so damaged that she actually wants to get together with Michael. Does she not know that she looks exactly like Melora Hardin, and that means she's smokin' hot?"
Normally, I hate it when hot actresses are cast opposite very average looking or otherwise unattractive guys (see, Seinfeld). I call it Wishful Casting --- the creators want to think those women are available to them. But she does such a brilliant job with that role, with so few lines, that you get how messed up she is. So much self-hate, in the scenes with Michael, but hidden from everyone else.
OMG I'm so late for something! Back later.

I was, admittedly, in the shallow end of the pool there re: Jan. I think Melora Hardin is incredibly good-looking. But she's a very good actress, too: For a successful businesswoman who is that attractive to still be attracted to Michael? That was my point. Michael has his moments, obviously; but a woman like her, you'd think, could do so much better than Michael. It's to the writers', and Ms. Hardin's, credit that the woman who seemingly has it all, doesn't.

Good writers remain terrified of RST. Note that Josh and Donna only got together after the cancellation was announced.
Jim is not leaving the show, but he could leave Scranton for a while to force the issue.
Jenna Fischer said that while the Pam in her wants Jim and Pam to get together (awww), perhaps Jim is the person who makes Pam realize she can do better than Roy rather than being The One for Pam.

I agree that Jim could leave for awhile, but if she doesn't marry Roy, then what's the obstacle for J and P? Puzzled.
Hey, what was that great line of Dwight's? When Jim claimed to have telekinetic powers, and Dwight said something like, "There's no such thing. Continue..." That killed me. Rainn Wilson must have such a blast with Dwight.

It takes a special talent to play a creepy, clueless geek as well as Rainn Wilson does. In interviews, he seems like such a pleasant -- if a bit geeky -- guy.

Did you ever see him on Six Feet Under?
(Point of order: do these posts ever just run into the margin? Is there a better way to do this?)
