Ok, so Eric arrives at my house at 8:30 pm on Friday. He helps me move my really heavy desk downstairs into my room. Its the millionth time i've moved inside the house. So we wait for moe who is extremely late at 9:20 pm. We jump in his car, me nervous as hell when he mentions his brakes failed to work on the way here. So it turns out his brakes seem to work fine now. Ok, good. Moe takes the perimeter highway heading towards Dugald rd. We are driving, getting pumped for the DRA, when about 2 mintutes into the drive on the Perimeter, Moe belches out, "OH SHIT" or some random swea such as that, jerks the car to the left a bit, and the next thing I know, we make impact. The noise was a comination of a low bass boom and a crunching noise.
I immediately look behind me facing the rear windshield where I see some debris flying in a vast number of directions. I is a combination of rock looking, yet in the wind looks like large snow debris as though we hit a snow drift. Moe, Eric, and I collect ourselves and check behind us as see two cars pulled over. It appears as though the two cars pulled over had hit a deer and what we had accomplish was to decimate whatever remained of that deers life. That debris as I described it turned out to be the shattered bones of the deer being ripped from its skin and thrown into ablivion. We chuckle with a tear in our eyes, and continue on our way. We head to the flood way.
After succesfully surviving a bambi ambush, we coast the car to a side road that leads to the floodway bridge in construction. The group collects the necessary gear (i.e. my camera and clothing). Now we head to the construction site along the tree lines as not to be seen. Eric breaks away from the group to scout ahead and to check for security at the security post. Moe and I align our selves in positions of stealth. Eric throws some pebbles at the security centre, doing so in hoping to lure out security. Nothing. We decide after a priliminary security check that its all clear. Eric, Moe and I Climb the bridge, and notice yet another security post. Crap! This one seems to be fortified with lights. We debate whether or not to scope it out, and I urge Eric into doing so. Moe and I retreat into sleath mode, slowly following our scout. Our scout Eric informs us to get off the mud road as our tracks are being implanted in the mud. Eric moves ahead, scopes out the target, and heads past us in retreat. Finding nothing of concern, I pop my flash to inform him of our location.
We head back to the bridge where our eyes are diverted to the large bulldozer. I do a little photo shoot with the boys and move on. We head under the bridge and get comfortable. Eric climbs up to the bridge top. I decide that the ladder is much more efficient but Eric insists, not nearly as fun. I allocate Eric, and photograph his behaviour. I get an amazing shot of him holding a long pipe which in the photo looks entirely like a rocket launcher. While we wait for Moe's fat ass to get up top, choosing not to take the ladder...whatever. So just as he is climbing up, i turn around facing where we had come from and where the car is located, i spot two headlights. My heart goes into overdrive. I whisper as loud as I can, "ERIC, ERIC, CAR, THERE'S A CAR COMING" I decide that it would be smart to run all the way across the bridge to the other side. I start blazing in the direction as fast as i can with all the equipment i have. Eric yells to Moe to get his ass moving, the Eric orders me to turn around telling me that we have to go the other way. I don't understand as thats where they are coming from. I halt dead for a about two seconds and head back towards the headlights.
During this occassion I may have trampled our Moe as he took a fall. The phrase "leave no man behind" went completely out the window. Eric climbs down the pillar, and I reluctantly follow but with pure fear in my body as i don't want to damage my equipment. After a scary climb down I crawl to where Eric is located, at the tip of where to ground incline meets the bridge. We watch the truck roll by, both of us sneak around the bridge so we are located behind the truck at a 45 degree angle. Its gone. Gone? Where did it go? It had turned off its lights and we had no idea where it was. The truck was about 50 feet away and now it was gone. Moe pops up lord knows where, and Eric commands our asses out of there, but Moe must retrieve his sweater that he strategically hid. This, only slowing down our escape, puts Eric on edge and Moe puts a double tap on things. We move one by one across. I make the bold dash down the long strechted road, the road didn't seem so long when we came. Eric and Moe are a good distance behind.
Moe and I jump into his car, Eric watching for activity is by the road. Moe turns the car around, and Eric jumps into the moving car, and the foot is down on the pedal. We made it. Our great escape. High fives, and peeled skin. Eric treats Moe wounds, from what seems, a daring adventure to say the least. We head back to my place look at the gore under Moe's car and attempt to climb the school near by. This fails as my ladder is too short. Elementary schools are build to keep people from climbling them. So instead we to a re-enactment of the deer collision. Eric is the deer and Moe is driving. After that, Moe and Eric to a series of shots, I forget what you call them, but they look pretty cool if you make them go really fast.
Hope you enjoy them,
