I feel like I'm going to puke. I just found out that what I thought was going to be a simple little repair on my MUCH-LOVED, gorgeous, best-guitar-in-the-world, Washburn acoustic may be a hopeless quest for the holy grail.
The bridge has 6 little saddles vs. one big saddle. Apparently this was some dumb ass idea Washburn had years ago and they may have stopped making them. And you can't use a regular replacement saddle. And I keep breaking the same string right where it rest on said saddle. And the guy I thought could fix ANYTHING at my local shop said this may not happen! YARG. I have to stop by tomorrow to let him see it and I have to call Washburn to see if they carry replacements and I have to figure out what the model number is to do all this....
I'm sure it seems I'm over reacting...but the relationship i have with this instrument is....special. I've always known that if my house was burning down I'd grab my guitar and my cats.
I sure hope he will change his mind once he sees the guitar. He wasn't 100% sure of the model w/o seeing it....ugh.
