You know, these secret candies kind of seem like something else Fred and George might cook up, if they could find a way to do it. I'd like to think they'd be more selective about the kind of secrets they'd reveal, though ( Read more... )

secrets are yummy, yuuko, envy, hinamori, kenshin, can never trust you again, curse day, affected, the city's full of weirdos, snape, mad hatter, sarah, my secret candy heart, you guys are freaks, neville, katan, dexter, but secrets aren't good for your teeth

Someone would do such a thing?

How horrible.

[ooc: This is Katan-speak for "Oh snap, is that one about me? Must not reveal secret identity!" The guilt of it kills him after all ;_;]

Yes, very.

I'm sorry you had to learn of that secret.

Don't be sorry. It's not like it's your fault, you know? It's the City.

... Sorry, I don't think I caught your name? I'm Ginny.

You -- ?

Hello, Katan! Nice to meet you.

Nothing.

Ginny. Yes, it's nice to meet you too.
Even if I only spoke because you mentioned black magic.

Black magic?

You mean, like dark magic?

...

I would think that's what blood sacrifices would be called.

... I guess so. The dark magic in my world is pretty bad and we don't even have spells for that.

Are you a wizard, too?

Perhaps the blood was an accident.
Dangerous magic, black magic, but with no intentions of killing.

Perhaps it's still just as bad.

No, I'm not.

... I don't know, honestly. Maybe it depends why wanted to bring someone so dangerous back.

... You sound like this hits close to home. It's not painful for you, is it?

Maybe so.

The thought of taking innocent lives for such a thing is painful.

But I think it does depend on why one wanted to bring someone back.
And who one wanted to bring back.

Yeah.

Then again, I'm not sure I can get behind the idea that it's ever okay to sacrifice other people's lives to bring back someone. Why should any of those people have to die? It's wrong. You're right, you know -- it's painful to think that innocent people were killed. Probably evil and selfish, too, but maybe that depends on why you wanted to bring someone back.

... And who.

Good and evil are not such simple ideas as we wish they were.

Do you really believe that?

Or is it just an excuse to do what you know is wrong?

At least sometimes, it's pretty cut and dried.
