Explanations:
Why I love VD
One minute Klaus is about to burn the house down, and the next they’re all working together. It’s that wonderful tvd mix of humour, fun, drama, intensity, angst, and darkness.
My favourite moment
Stefan is desiccating Klaus, and the emotion both characters evoke here is amazingly intense, there’s so much meaning involved.
The most WTF moment
I interpreted this as a moment that made me sit up and pay attention, this isn’t a moment I disliked, but one I loved, one that made me go WTF Brilliant. We think Elena’s about to force Elijah into another deal-by stabbing herself-and then once the deal is made and he moves to heal her, she daggers him. Elena is being badass and awesome.
My favourite character
They are all so amazing. This is me showing restraint.
My least favourite character
I used to like Matt at the beginning, but as time has gone on, he annoys me more and more, and seems superfluous to things.
My favourite pairing
Epically Unhealthy Obsessions. I’ll stop there before I write an essay.
My least favourite pairing
This scene is Matt asking whether Caroline’s ‘basket-case period’ is over, after she, you know, almost died. (Then everything’s better because he says ‘I love you’, seriously?) Every time he gives a description of Caroline it’s not nice, even at her 18th when they’re trying to cheer her up, he jokes ‘mean-girl’, which would be funnier if it wasn’t the only thing he said.
The reason I started watching the show
The first time I tuned in it was half channel flicking, half a resigned attempt to see what the show was about. And then Stefan Vervained Damon and threw him in a cell and I was hooked.
A moment when I considered quitting
Most of the stuff on this show that pi**es me off makes me want to watch more, not stop, but this was the exception. After all that fuss, and waiting, John had no ulterior motive, seriously? Is he just an idiot then, because a lot of the stuff he did seemed like he was trying to get Elena killed. It really bugged me because it felt like we had been waiting a season to find out, and then there was no pay off, major plot fail.
Brotherhood
The brothers on this show and their relationships, are so wonderfully complex and broken and tragic, but it all comes back to this unyielding co-dependency and love.
