(no subject)
hey, so today was actually a pretty cool day.
Helped out with chorfest today , which got me out of my first 5 classes!! =D no govt, french, AM lit, or sex ed. woohoo! So chorfest went off without a hitch. My job today was telling the judges when their time was almost up, and leading the choirs off stage and back to the commons. It was fun. And instead of eating school lunch, i got to chill in the choir room and eat jimmy johns and pizza w/ a bunch of my friends! =D I really miss my old lunch and lunch table people...
But what completely made my day was work tonight!!! yes, i know that sounds really weird, cuz normally everyone lothes working. But tonight it was soooo worth it. Pretty much, the first hour i was working (i had the 4-7/8 shift) i was in a happy, out of it, sorta trance. cuz work is rather dull. But suddenly things got really spicey really quick! all of a sudden, i turned around to see a big, high school kid with a big black sweatshirt start briskly walking out of the store as one of the ladies in the glass cubicle office start yelling for him to come back and stay here! quicker than i knew what was happening, the kid picked up the pace, and got out of the store. so of course, me, and half the people and employees at the checkout counters suddenly stop what they're doing and either stare out of or go to the windows. The kid gets to the parkinglot and starts running. But out of nowhere, our manager/part store owner Nate comes bolting out the front exit right after the kid! the sprinted all the way across the parking lot, running towards mainstreet. As they sprinted, Nate was quickly catching up to the kid. When they hit the sidewalk, nate was no more than an arms length away from the kid (aparently he's really fast!). All of a sudden, the kid veres off and runs straight into the middle of Busy rush hour mainstreet without even looking!! Nate, being smarter than that, didnt dive out in front of traffic. somehow the kid didnt get hit, ran across the way, and jumped over a random house's backyard fence. We didnt know for sure at the time, but a lady said he'd taken a candy bar, but we also kinda figured he stole some tobacco/snuff along the way. So the cops came, and everything died down, but that was the most excitement i've ever had at work.
apparently this kid is really stupid because later i'd heard that the kid was caught coming back out onto the street by cost cutters, which is right across the street from us, next to the house who's fence he jumped. Stupid kid. I didnt get to see him booked or taken in though. And i didnt hear the punishment either. But Man was that exciting! completely made my day!! i think the only thing that would have made it more interesting would have been if our manager had tackled the kid, or if he'd gone flying over the top of a car, but thats slightly saddistic... wow this completely reminds me of Julia and Davin's group interp piece from last year =D
