One of the highlights of
ending September this year is getting to try
Starbucks Reserve Coffee for the first time ever. Starbucks Reserve Coffees are, as far as I understand it, special blends of coffee that they pick from special places that cultivate coffee beans with distinctive flavors (ones that "enchant, amaze and captivate" - so, basically, it's the Fantastic Beasts of coffees).
I never had one before, mostly because Starbucks Reserve Coffee is only available in one store in Jakarta (Grand Indonesia) and it takes a while to brew and I rarely have time for it, but today happens to be a day that I'm in GI specifically to get coffee from Starbucks and I don't mind waiting for the coffee to be prepared. The barista saw me being disillusioned by the regular espresso-based menu and she offered a selection Starbucks Reserve Coffee to try and inspire me. On a whim I picked Papua New Guinea Luoka, which is coffee of "bright acidity with lemon and orange citrus notes, smooth body and a cocoa finish."
I waited for about 10-ish minutes and when it came to me, the coffee was served with cookies on a wooden tray. It was also served on the rocks because I love iced coffee more than hot ones. And it was super delicious. Absolutely recommended. Just... where have I been? I'm going to try more Starbucks Reserve Coffee from now on whenever I'm at Starbucks Grand Indonesia!
