Not-so-secret Life of Pets: Foggy

Apr 18, 2016 09:15

Today my cats visited me in my bedroom and woke me up from my sleep. I don't usually allow them in my room because I have a lot of stuff in my room and I don't want to get furs all my duvet/sheets/clothes, because I'm also slightly allergic. But they're so cute I just let them be.

Also, I've never done a picspam of the kitties Q birthed a year ago, so now I feel like I have to do it. We'll start with the coolest one...

Meet Foggy. She's our calmest cat, so she's very easy to photograph. ♥ My mom's the one who actually took the picture which is easy for her because she's still and quiet.

Foggy's name was taken from Elden Henson's character in Daredevil but, like all cats in our household, they have nicknames. We call her Kakak sometimes, or Olet (pronunciation: olette, like in omelette). 'Kakak' means 'older sibling' in Indonesian. We gave her that nickname because she's the older sister to my other cat Harris - whose nickname is Ichi - and so because I'm also the human version of an older sister at home, I'm referred to as 'the real Kakak'.

Oh, and yeah, our female cats have male names. Because we can. We think of the names as gender neutral.

We call this Foggy's Pinterest post picture. Again, she was calm when the picture was taken. That's my sister's corsage from when she was a bridesmaid last year. Foggy refused to wear it on her body (not Harris, though) so we just put it beside her. Thankfully, she tolerated that.

My sister joked that this was Foggy's impression of my Bell's palsy face because, hey, if you can't joke about your partial facial paralysis... She was just waking up from a nap on the sofa and was surprised by the bright lights of my camera. (Not that I remembered using a flash... Then again this was taken as I was recuperating from the illness, so I might have been drugged at that time.)

Speaking of naps...

Foggy was lazy a few days ago and she stayed in this armchair and that position - or variations of the position - for three whole hours. Maybe even more. Before I left for my physiotherapy session, she was napping in that position (I promptly snapped a pic). When I got back 2 hours later, she was still there! After that I left to watch The Huntsman: Winter's War in the cinema and, in the middle of the movie, my mom texted me a picture of Foggy... still napping! So I guess that's one similarity Foggy and I share: we are such long sleepers. :)

And if anyone's wondering about the pillow: yes, we had it made in Ubud, Bali. My sister went there on holiday, found a shop whose proprietor could paint pet pictures on canvas bags and pillow cases (or on canvas in general).

They look pretty similar to each other, right? And of course it's only right that Foggy naps on herself.

Meanwhile, if she's not napping, she accompanies us on our TV watching activity, including but not limited to taking over a whole bean bag to herself.

In the next edition: Harris de Greypaw, aka Ichi, aka Gilik.
