Happy May Day!
Even if today the streets of Jakarta are filled with labors' demonstrations I managed to spend it with the friends I've not seen for a long time so it was quite fun.
Now I'm back home and going to enjoy one of my favorite new TV shows: FX's Fargo.
The original Fargo is the only movie by Coen Brothers that I bothered watching in full and end up loving quite a lot so I probably should have been annoyed that it's now been adapted for TV. But the adaptation is actually quite clever because it captured the spirit of the movie without imitating the Coen brothers' film to the letter. And having seen the film, I feel like it's a good way to relive the quirkiness (and the accent).
There's probably no other Billy Bob Thornton role that I enjoy more than Lorne Malvo - even that weird haircut of his is entertaining to watch in its creepiness. His character is evil, but I don't know. His evilness makes me laugh. Maybe that makes me a bad person but there's a small, dark part of me that wishes I could be like that to people who annoy me. Annoy the annoying people, Lorne Malvo-style. It should be a thing in certain circumstances.
And while Allison Tolman is brilliant as Molly Solverson, and she should definitely be highlighted as the star of the show, there's also nothing more amusing than watching Martin Freeman act opposite a living actor whose nickname could easily be Bilbo!
(Dear Billy Bob, Bilbo Thornton has a very nice ring to it. Just in case you want a name change. Sincerely, Me.)
New episodes air on Tuesdays and there are seven episodes to go. So when Agents Of SHIELD finish airing, I'll still having something to look forward to on Tuesdays!
