ONE. How do you pick the 10 best movies since the last quarter of 2009 until now when you've enjoyed so many?
I honestly don't know. I've been reviewing my Top 10 Favorites Of The Year since 2009 and I have no clue which movies I will pick for my Top 10 Favorite Films Since The Birth Of My Magazine (that's the name for the feature we're working on). There are just so many. Sure, I can just pick all the numbers 1 and 2 from my list every year but then I would have the same movies as everyone else in the editorial team. As happy as I am that we are all people of good taste, it would be boring if all five of us had the same movies. Gah.
But, I'll tell you what, keeping an annual Favorites Of The Year list does help me when it comes to writing features like this. Yay me for being obsessive/organized/Virgo!
TWO. How do you deal with competitive people who try to prove they're better than you all the time?
You know what I hate the most? It's when I say, "I've read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 76 times" and someone goes, "Oh, I've read it 79 times!" Competitive much?
Something along that line happened today (well, yesterday, Wednesday, whenever). I'm ashamed to admit that this person shares a fandom with me, although the good thing is we don't cross paths in our internet places. I'm happy to stay far, far away from her because, urgh, who wants to deal with that all the time? Go on, have your cosplays and your fandom debates and your frequent reading of books/watching of films/scratching your arse. Me, I have a job and a life to deal with.
I think I need to sleep before I get even crankier.
