Hey, guys,
look at my cat! HRH Princess Aiden von Fluff is being a fluff ball. For now, that is. It wasn't like last Monday when she freaked me out.
Last Monday, while I worked from home due to my aching shoulder, I stayed downstairs in the living room and closed all the doors because I turned on the AC. After a while, I remembered to open the door to let her in so I went there to look her. Just before I opened it, though, I saw Aiden in the terrace... holding a dead mouse in her mouth. Yeah, A FREAKING HUMONGOUS RAT.
Way to go at shocking the hell out of me, cat. Naturally, I panicked and called for my dad (he was the intended recipient of that offering anyway.) He came downstairs and checked on Aiden. As it turned out, it was one of the rats that had been hunting for food in my kitchen for the last few months. I'd had a few encounters with the rat(s) myself and I was really upset when I had those encounters because they were such pests. Knowing that natural selection had solved the problem made me happy because that's what cats are supposed to do, right?
But still, it was kind of icky to see my cat with a carcass on her mouth. I stayed as far away from her as possible when my dad let her in and up to her room. He told me later that, upon entering her room, she hid under a table, afraid that she was going to get told off for somehow killing the rat. But after my dad gave her food and complimented her, she preened and started to beg for belly rubs once more. Spoiled, that one, very much so.
Anyway, I suggested to my parents that we should let her sleep in the kitchen just in case any other rat dared to come back. But they dismissed the idea. They didn't want her to sleep alone and wreak havoc in the kitchen. Like I said, she's seriously spoiled.
To close this tale of the one kitty, I give you an Avengers fic where Phil Coulson is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s very own crazy cat lady and The Avengers are a team of superhero cats:
