I wonder what the Hobbit wrap party is like!

I have some interesting movie/fandom news!

The Hobbit filming is wrapped!

So all Peter Jackson has to do now is go into the editing room and hopefully - HOPEFULLY - he will get to editing it and delivering the final cut ASAP so we can actually have the movie by December of this year. If I were the cast and crew, though, I wouldn't relax or go home just yet. Knowing him, sometime in September they might get called up to shoot pick-ups.

According to PJ's message, they spent 266 days filming the movie. That's not as long as Lord Of The Rings' filming. Then again, they're only shooting two movies - from one single book - back-to-back. It's still longer than the normal shooting period... and, once again, I remind you that PJ likes to shoot pick-ups. Just because the principal photography ends, it doesn't mean there won't be more.

Next week PJ, Martin Freeman and Richard Armitage (along with one other member of the cast and crew--I forgot who) are going to present a clip from the movie at Comic-Con. Exciting doesn't even begin to cover it. I'm going to try to stay put in front of my computer, anticipating the news (and hopefullyfingerscrossedohmygodpleaseletitbethere the leaked video of the clip.)

9 Ways DC Entertainment Can Catch Up To Marvel Studios

Nothing that hasn't been said before, but I think this makes a pretty good sense. I'm linking it here because they mentioned the DC film projects that are supposedly being developed, but not made. (Seriously, they should finish a project for once and stop announcing things without follow-up. I want a movie about the Flash! Preferably starring Daniel Radcliffe.)

I'm on LETTERBOXD

I found this website, Letterboxd, which is like Goodreads for movies. I haven't browsed much but I find it a lot more civilized than IMDB. It's still on beta so we have to get an invitation to join, which was tedious, but I finally got an invite and made an account today. We can write reviews, use tags, make a movie diary and follow friends.

If you have a Letterboxd account, let me know so I can add you. My user name is mavieenlair - if you're there, look me up! :)

Also, I have 2 invite codes left for anyone who's interested in joining.

Missing scenes from The Amazing Spider-Man

After my rant yesterday, I found the link above that speculated about deleted scenes from the final cut of the movie. It explained to me about why the tagline "The Untold Story" was dropped in the end... and there's a huge chance that the original story is very different from the final cut. I'm mind boggled.

cinema, the hobbit, batman, lord of the rings
