Miss Manners on bringing gifts of food to the hostesses of parties:
"Food that is leaking, sizzling, or mooing when presented is out. It is considerate to offer food without a time limit on it--preserves, herbs, freezable breads. The exception is home-grown tomatoes, which are always welcome."
Because as we know, there are only two things that money can't buy.
And that's true love...and home-grown tomatoes.
