A. [ On the floor of Mayfield's Church of Salvation, just behind the alter, you can find Romana's body, neck broken, with a bottle of Holy Water spilt next to her. Her eyes are shut, a single tear in the corner of her eye]

B. [Sometime later there's a call, the voice clearly Romana's, even if it is choked up in what sounds like tears]

[Italy arrives at the church as quickly as possible. He doesn't know what he can do to help, but... but... She's his sister. He can't afford to be useless. Especially after that one statue ate Miss Hungary. He stands at the door, taking a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves enough to enter.]

[pasodoble]

( ( Spain arrives shortly after. He's about to completely bowl over Italy but he manages to stop himself. While Spain is at rest, he tries to catch his breath. Why, yes, he did run the entire way here but that isn't important. Who's this boy? What's he doing here-- ) )

¿Italia? What are you doing here?

( ( Why is he little? Wait, that isn't important. ) )

Go home.

Big brother Spain?

[What is he doing here?]

I can't leave! Sorella is in there. And she's hurt! And those things already ate Miss Hungary....

[pasodoble]

( ( Kneeling down to place both hands on Italy's shoulders, trying to reassure him. ) )

Don't worry, I'll take care of her so just go home where it's sa-- what happened to Hungría?

There was an evil statue! And it ate her! I was there....

What if the statues ate Sorella too?

[Whimper. So many tears.]

( ( Sounds like an overactive imagination to Spain. ) )

They didn't eat her, ah, don't cry, Italia.

( ( Trying to wipe away those tears, ) )

She's okay, I promise. Look at me, Italia, have I lied to you before?

They didn't?

[He wants to believe that. Very badly. He looks up at Spain with big watery eyes.]

No, big brother, you never did. But what about Sorella? She's hurt right? She said on the phone....

['you'll be useless...']

She said she was hurt...

No, statues don't eat people.

( ( Oh, that look. Spain bites on the back of his lip, ) )

Do you really want to make sure she's okay?

I have to! I promised her I would and.... and someone has to help her.

[Sniffle.]

Big brother.... she said she's all alone in there.

Then you have to make me a promise,

( ( Spain signs as he stands up and he holds out a hand to Italy, ) )

Promise me you won't open your eyes until I tell you it's okay.

[Oh, Spain, that is both the best and worst idea ever. But he nods.]

Si... I promise.

[And he reaches out and grasps Spain's hand.]

( ( It was a good idea at the time, sob. Holding onto the small hand, he carefully leads Italy into the church. Spain gives Italy a small tug so that he's close to him and looks around. Where is she. . . ) )

[Eyes tightly shut and latched onto Spain's hand, Italy strains to hear any kind of sound. Any signs of life. Nothing.]

S- sorella? Are you here?

[pasodoble]

( ( It's quiet in the church. Too quiet, and Spain begins to worry. Again, he begins to walk down the aisle, guiding Italy with him. His steps and pace aren't the most appropriate for guiding a small child but he's concerned. ) )

Romana? Are you still here? It's me- Spain. And Italia is here too.

[canhaspasta]

[Italy stumbles, trying to keep up. He almost opens his eyes, but remembers his promise. He grasps Spain's hand a little tighter though. The lack of a response is starting to frighten him.]

Sorella? Please answer us...

[pasodoble]

( ( Again, nothing. It's just Spain and Italy in the church but she said she was here too. He looks as the pews, behind him, everywhere. ) )

Maybe she managed to get home. . .

( ( He doesn't believe it but he's trying to calm Italy down. Before he takes Italy home though, he has to look in one more place. He doesn't want to look but he has to make sure in case she needs him. Spain and Italy make their way to the altar. Once he's close enough to see though, he comes to a sudden stop, without any warning. ) )
