Popolo: Nov 2010 Arashi Fan Questions #7, 8, 9
These ones are really interesting! I especially liked reading a little about what Sho & Ohchan's rooms are like.
7) What's your house like? - Ta~ko, 21 years old
[Literal translation: "What kind of a feeling does your own house have?"]

"The small sofa in my bedroom is my number one comforting place!"
"Half-finished paintings are in my room"
What kind of feeling? A good feeling (laugh). In particular, I like sitting on the little sofa in my room. It's pretty much like any time I'm at home, I'll be sitting there. I've got a bed too, and the sofa's only little, but it's so nice that I actually sleep there in the summer. I've also got some half-finished paintings around from quite a while ago. They're really massive, so I'm not sure I'd even be able to get them out of the room.... Those pictures... I wonder what I can do about them? (laugh)

"The shelf with glasses on it is interesting"
In front of the TV, there's a little table and a sofa and..... I'm on that sofa a lot, huh. The shelf full of glasses from Ogura (Tomoaki)-san is an interesting feature. When you press a switch, lights come on and illuminate them. The living room is decorated with stuff like the shield I received on Arashi Challenge Week, the objét type thing I got given for appearing on Kouhaku, and various Arashi-related stuff.
8) Which family member do each of you most resemble? - Tomo, 10 years old

"My father in his highschool days"
I actually used to think that I looked most like my mother. But I came home for New Year and was looking through my father's yearbook, and I totally look like him. My relatives tell me I don't, but from my point of view, it's like "oh man, I've started looking like him!". I really like my grandfather on my mother's side's face; he had a Shirasu Jiro kind of feeling about him. But at this rate, it looks like I'm not gonna end up like that! (laugh)

"A magnificent level of uniformity"
When I was little, I looked like my dad, now it's my mum. When I put on glasses, I become the exact image of my mum! (laugh). Of course, even now I look like my parents, but I'm kinda transforming into my own self gradually. Oh, and from the side, I look like my sister. Actually it's not like I really think I look like her, I'm just told so by other people (laugh)... But in reality, I guess it's the truth.

People tell me that I look like my mother. How am I like her? Probably my face, I suppose. But I guess her personality too (laugh). But isn't this the kind of thing that the actual person themself can't tell? Plus, I don't often meet with people who know both me and my mother on close enough terms, so I guess I'm not often told about what little specific ways we resemble each other......

"Recently, my behaviour's started to match theirs too"
Parents, half each I guess. Both are precise people, with A blood types. With my face, I'm told about both, "you really look like them, don't you!" - but it's not a striking resemblance. My mother doesn't have such heavy features. My eyebrows must be my dad's, huh. Also, I've come to resemble my dad a bit in my behaviour. Like when I've been drinking alcohol (laugh). When you discover these things, it's like "guess we really are parent and child!" isn't it?

"Frighteningly alike!"
Within my family, I'm told I most look like my grandmother, but actually the person I most look like is in my extended family. My grandmother's sister and I look exactly alike. She actually died quite a long time before I was born, so I've only seen her in photos though. The first time I saw her, I was seriously shocked by how alike we were! It was as if someone had taken me and put me in a girls' school uniform and pigtails (laugh).
9) What does the aftershave you use smell like? - Ai, 21 years old

"A bit like incense, and "old man-ish" refined scent"
"I've recently changed my aftershave!"
Recently I've received a newly-produced one, and that's been my favourite. It's a kind of refined smell, I mean, it's a bit of an incense-like feeling, after time passe, it fades a bit. But as for me, I like the smell when you first put it on, that's a bit "old man-ish" (laugh). With girl's perfume too, I like the original scents. That's to say, I like people who like the same kind of scents as me. The kind that not many people use.

"It's the same melon-scented one I've used ever since my Junior days"
"I just put it on before leaving the house♪"
I talked about it a bit before (pg. 20 - I'll be translating this part later!), but ever since my Junior times when I was about 16 years old, I've been using the same aftershave scent. The scent is a bit like, melon.... sort of a sweet kinda smell? In the past, there was a time I decided to change my aftershave, but I just kept using the old one without realising it (laugh). As for using the aftershave, I spray it just one time before I leave the house. That's enough for me!
