We're all here safe and sound. A mostly uneventful trip (which is a good thing) down, save for Will deciding that he can un-buckle his own child seat restraint. Much scolding from Mommy and a quick pull off the road, he hasn't done it since *crosses fingers*.
The hotel rooms are nice and roomy (suites) and I think everyone is pleased. Had a very yummy dinner at Red Lobster and then over to Wal-Mart to pick up a few essentials.
Poor Jen, she's been hit by a late evening headache and has already crashed. Will went down late but pretty easily, and thankfully seems to be sleeping comfortably in the port-a-crib.
I'm not generally a fan of mini-vans but they are nice for long road trips such as this. Mom's van is especially nice because it has a (I know GEEK) over head computer that tells you (amongst other things) your mileage AS YOU DRIVE. I had fun watching the numbers climb higher and higher...29.8, 35.6, 41.4 MPG going down hills. Once it even got up to 99.9 on a very steep long grade down, which was cool. Generally the van did pretty well for itself, getting 26.41 MPG for the first leg of the trip. Which I find pretty respectable for a V-6 extended length Caravan.
Sight seeing and swimming tomorrow, so off to bed I go.
