Spanish, South America and Green Wing

Hola! Buenas tardes!

My spanish lessons are going well, and am getting into planning my World Tour for next year! I've only had two so far but am really enjoying them... well mostly. There's a middle aged man in the class who is distinctly annoying. He seems to constantly feel the need to assert his Alpha male status. Urgh. He doesn't like anyone to have a better answer or to be trying to find out more... jeez it's like being at school once more. *shudders* Surely by your mid 40s you should have got over that attitude?!

Anway, rant over. I never though that I would be so happy to have homework. It's amazing what the world of work can do to you! Working at an architects doing countless letters and photocopies for 8 hours a day really starts to make your mind melt! Everyone's really friendly and the work's not too bad, it's just... well I'm just not that interested in the work I'm doing. *shrugs*  So my spanish lessons are such a welcome break, Steve and I keep irritating our families by spouting the very little spanish we've learnt at each other! Apologies that I shall probably continue to do so in my lj too!

I have been reading about Peru and Bolivia all day and feel distinctly bored of rainy England! The Inca Trail sounds like alot of hard work, but would probably be one of the most incredible things to do... I have to admit that I'm not a huge walker, don't mind it but I'm not the fittest bunny in the hutch. The views do look so mind blowing that I think I may have to start going to the gym. *shudders* I saw The Motorcycle Diaries last year and it really increased my travelling bug: admittedly the idea of going by motorcycle does not appeal in the slightest nor does the swimming in the amazon but you get the idea! On a little bit of a tangent: I loved that film! If you haven't seen it, go and see it!

On other positive notes I'm heading up to London tomorrow afternoon with my friend Anna to go to the Green Wing season 2 DVD release and signing! I'm really quite excited about it. I've never been to a signing before and I only found out about it by accident: I hadn't checked the gw forum for ages and checked it by chance on thursday and found out! I've been watching episodes on and off today whilst researching South america so that I can watch season 2 this week without being clueless! Will be taking my digital camera with me and I intend to take as many photos as possible! Will be posting any that I manage to take on my lj later this week: so to those of you who can't go at least you'll get a second hand glimpse of stephen, pippa, karl and Julian. I don't really know how these things work: is it ok to take photos? Can you take photos with them? Is it ok to chat to the guys? Any ideas?!

On other fandoms: This season of  Seasonal Spuffy has already produced some gems and I'm so happy that it's back again. There are some of my favourite authors posting later on in the round so I'm looking forward to that immensly.  :) Have also been enjoying looking through some of the nominees on
angelic_amy's new awards site. It's always good to see that writers are still producing work for the btvs/ats verse 3 years since btvs ended.

Not much more to add. Hope that everyone on my flist is well. Good luck to
onelocalfreak: I hope that this year's freshers week goes well :) I'm sure that you will all do brilliantly! I'm hopefully coming up to durham for 60s, 70s and 80s ent so I look forward to seeing you then! I'm trying to hunt out my costume already!
