we believe in the journey

если кто-то с английским и с сентиментальным настроением, смотрите под кат - там вдохновительный текст с моего любимого babycenter.com
я очень растрогалась.

We believe in the journey of Mommyhood. And we believe in Daddyhood,
too. We believe this is the most challenging thing you will ever do. And the
most extraordinary.
We believe in trimesters, in first sonogram photos, and
in finding out. And in not. We believe in yelling potential baby names out
the backdoor at dinnertime - just to test out what they sound like. We believe
in happiness and exhaustion, and  that  the Surgeon General’s mandate of
eight hours of sleep can be jointly accounted for over a period of three days.
We also believe the four best words in the English  language are sleeping
through the night.
We believe in the almighty diaper bag. And that you’ll
never be anywhere in 20 minutes, ever again. We believe in the one little
sock  that always gets kicked off. And  in shoulders  that never stay clean.
We believe in the frst smile that is defnitely not gas. And in first steps that
surely must mean, “He’s so advanced for his age.” We believe in grooming
hair with saliva.  In making siren sounds every  time a fire truck goes by.
And  in perfecting  the “driver reach-back” to blindly locate and replace a
lost pacifer.
And we most certainly believe in those lengthy, insightful,
amazingly open conversations with other moms - your new best friends.
We believe in pirates and princesses and dinosaurs and Sneetches. And
in footed pajamas and bedtime stories with secret passageways.  We
believe  in  “How  come?”  and  “Why?”  And that kids really do say the
darndest things.
We believe in brothers and sisters and the line of
demarcation in the backseat. We believe in soccer moms and ballet dads. And
in taking off the training wheels - and, yes, in stitches, too.
We believe in the Grand Central Kitchen with its refrigerator art gallery and omniscient
chalkboard schedule. And we believe in marking kids’ heights against the
wall.
We believe in the first day of school, spring break vacations, and
the last day of summer. And we believe that sometimes, things are just
so funny that milk has to come out of your nose.
We believe in “If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times,” and in “I don’t care who started
it,” and especially in “Because I said so, that’s why.” We believe you are -
or will become - a master scheduler of playdates, a  respected architect
of couch-cushion  forts, and an expert  in what comes after  two-and-a-half
and two-and-three-quarters.
We believe in the universality of it all. We
believe it’s a journey. We believe in nurturing it. And yes, we believe in you.
