Sometimes, it really pays to keep the camera in the car. Is there a chance that the car will get broken into and the camera stolen? Maybe. But would I miss things like this if I didn't carry it? Definitely!
On my way home from work yesterday, I looked up and there were four hot air balloons drifting overhead. It quickly became clear that they were landing in a neighborhood between office and house, so I set off in pursuit.
This one landed just behind the subdivision, in the edge of the park. One of his buddies actually landed in someone's backyard between house and pond, but I didn't get any good shots of that one (I arrived in time to see them dragging the balloon between two houses in order to pack up into their recovery truck in the cul-de-sac).

Ballooning over Fishers, IN
I wasn't expecting to go on a balloon chase on my way home from work, but these guys were landing in a neighborhood and I could get close enough for good pictures, so yay!

Reflection in Pond
I was so focused on the balloon that I almost didn't notice the reflections in the pond. Oops... I should frame for that, eh? The little tree in the foreground gave an interesting extra element for framing.

Disappearing now
Last shot, as the balloon was disappearing behind the houses. I drove around to see if they needed a hand packing up, but they had plenty of willing help.
