Strangest pet policy ever...

Got an email from catalana, with whom I'm rooming at WindyCon, saying that she'd called the hotel to add me and ChaseTheDog to the reservation. She'd added me, but the hotel had questions about the dog, so would I call them back and sort them out.

So I called the hotel today... first, they didn't actually have me on the reservation, but they took my word that I should be there (thank goodness I'm not a stalker, eh??). They did have a note about the dog and today's desk clerk appeared to think that no additional info was needed. Oooookay... cool then.

"Oh, but I should tell you..." she says, as an afterthought... "We have a policy that your dog must be either caged or muzzled any time it's in the lobby."

Bwaah??

She continued to go on about how "pet-friendly" they are, while telling me that their (new, since it didn't apply last time I was there) blanket assumption is that all dogs bite. *blink* And while she initially said "lobby", she later said "public areas". I wonder if that applies to outside on the grass, 'cause it's hard to take him out in a "cage" to go pee, and I'm not about to go buy a muzzle to put on my perfectly friendly dog.

How bizarre. Should make for an interesting visit.
