I still like LJ but I feel like it's become somewhat of a ghost town. Where are all the cool kids hanging out these days? Is there another LJ out there somewhere that's actually popular?

A lot of people seem to have turned to Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Though none of those sites are as personal and private like LJ.

Ugh, there's no WAY I'm posting some of the intimate thoughts I post here on those sites. :/

I don't blame you! The only one I really use other then LJ is Facebook. I made both a real name and alternate account for the social media site. I'm very selective who I add to the alternate Facebook account and I have a special filter. Even with all that, I'm still not comfortable posting certain things there.

Yeah. I've got some reeeaaalllly personal stuff in here, particularly in some of my older entries, that I just would not feel comfortable sharing on FB. I do talk some stuff there, but I am much more guarded.

Heck if I know... I'm just trying (again) to get back here (with mixed success) and it IS a bit of a ghost town. I really miss the vibrant community I had back in the day...

Yeah, there is FB, but that is a different KIND of thing. Dreamwidth is out there, but I don't know if it ever got a big as LJ was, though it might be bigger than LJ now.
