The warm light of torches stretched across the broad, newly completed porch that overlooked the still wild and overgrown gardens of Imladris. Inside, in the Hall of Fire, Elrond could hear Lindir entertaining the mingled Noldor and Sindar with his song of Eärendil and Elwing's fantastical flight into the West.
Elrond was more interested in what walked just to the east of him, pausing occasionally among the ivy and roses. Her hair shone like diamonds in the mingled light of moon and fire. Lady Celebrían glanced over her shoulder and smiled at him. He smiled too, and left the porch.
