I stare out from the parapet, grim-faced and sombre. The hosts have descended-their voices a din against the battlements. These monsters below me: beasts, their challenge echoes. Destroyers of peace and Light.
My father is no more. The King’s son and heir has departed. And who is to blame?
These fiends, foul-hearted creatures, I look upon them and grow still. The battle has come to the Mark, yet within a fierce fight already burns-smouldering.
I bend my sight to the plains before the wall; I see truth. Against such forces we cannot hope to prevail, but we must.
