The bothy where they have taken shelter from the blizzard is built against a rock face...and snow is pushing up the outside wall...
Years ago they both set out for Rivendell - and let the Ring seduce them.
They wielded its power...as ash-rain fell on blood-tinted rivers.
But the Ring is unfaithful...
Hard-packed snow is now barring door and window and snow-filtered light curl like smoke around their matted hair and hollow faces.
Their eyes lock and the seeds of hate they have carried from the ashes of Minas Tirith burst into red-hot bloom...shining like crimson pearls as daggers are drawn.
