Song challenge - lullabye

Gimli couldn’t make out the words, Aragorn sang too softly, but the melody was soothing. He’d heard the man humming the tune before to himself, when on watch at night, or when distracted by some small task. The dwarf thought it must be some mannish ballad of love, because although lilting and sweet, it seemed melancholy. Dwarves’ love songs were far more robust… he never considered asking anything more.
As he watched Aragorn fasten the Gondorian’s leather bracers around his wrists, and recognised the words were elvish… Gimli finally questioned the elf.
“The lullabye? …It sings the fallen to rest.”
