Her brothers took the furled standard, along with the reforged sword of Kings, when they set off with the Grey Company seeking both battle and a King.
Halbarad had taken it with pride, and ridden at his chieftain’s side.
Arwen’s work, though spattered with both mud and blood, survived. But Halbarad, who had weathered so much at Estel’s side over the years, had not.
If they lived past the next battle to tell the tale, they would tell their sister of the banner flying as a sign of hope - but neither would tell her that Halbarad died whilst bearing it.
