Unmentionables; Compass; Sailing inti the Sunset
Continuing from the previous drabble, we are still on a ship heading west...
Title; Sailing into the sunset

The Telerin sailors seemed sure that they were sailing in the right direction. “Day break behind us, sunset on the bow…” There was not even a compass beside the ship’s wheel.
Tindómë really wished there was, because she wanted to see what it did when the vessel ‘took the straight road’. She had a hunch it might go haywire.
She mentioned it to Gimli and, to her delight, he winked conspiratorially and took what looked like a large silver locket from his pocket. Flipping the lid he revealed the quivering needle.
“Those lads are quite right”, he said. “Due West…”
