Frodo did not envy Bilbo that journey. As a lad he had stayed away from the river in case it snatched him as it had his parents. The Bucklebury ferry had been more than enough for him.
No matter how beautiful the Elven boats, he had spent most of the journey down the Anduin gripping tightly to the side of the vessel, trying not to think of the water beneath him.
Sailing West had the same effect whenever a wave caused the ship to rock.
Yet Bilbo made spilling down the stream, clinging to a barrel, sound almost enjoyable… now.
