Three nights passed in exploration, and feats of stamina, leaving both men impressed by the other. Being young, strong, being… dare they say the words?
And all too soon it was ‘hometime’. In the final hours of their last night, they had moments for reflection, even tenderness - luxuries few warriors such as they could afford.
Boromir sighed, “I’ll send messages.”
Théodred nodded. “In a few months, we’ll ride across the Westfold… You might... inspect your borders?”
“And if we should meet…?”
“It would be impolite not to linger.”
“A day…? Two?”
Théodred shrugged, “That’s all we can ever hope for...”
