Ingfjöa stood near the casement, looking at the garden below where the Queen sat reading a book, the other Ladies in Waiting nearby.
The door behind her opened as a voice asked "Qveen Arven?" A young girl entered, clothed in leather plate. She wore a wide belt around her waist featuring an empty scabbard; her tousled red hair escaped a crowning braid.
"Riddermark?" the dwarf asked.
"Ja, Domhildr, vom Aldburg. Du … use axe?"
"Yes," she nodded. "You're a swordswoman?"
"Ja, shield-maidchen."
"I'm Ingfjöa. Want to spar?"
Arms linked, the two warriors left the room, heading for the practice grounds.
