Her eyes were hot.

She snorted, and poked their meagre campfire.
“...would you have married me, anyway?” He persisted.
“I am no princess.”
“But if my father hadn’t died, if I’d not gone to Imladris. If...”
“If I’d not runaway... not been taken by Haradrim. If Mithrandir hadn’t sent you...
You can’t live life as ‘maybes’.”
He nodded slowly, eyelids drooping.
Eventually, she thought him asleep, and whispered...
“...I would.”
