But, really, the inhabitants did not live a life of total tranquillity; what with going out to fight yrch, needing to safeguard it with the controllable river, Elrond being part of the White Council who plotted and worried about the threat from Sauron, and so on.
And, clearly, they don't think of it as so tranquil as to be boring or they wouldn't be so loath to leave it
She thinks that, in a similar way, life in the West may not be so tranquil as to be boring...
LOL - Yes, that outward image of tranquility can hide a great deal of activity. Nice that you can continue this conversation throughout the challenge. I look forward to the next chapter :-)
Thank you. She is being a little like a child at a party who is bursting the balloons...
Somehow I can't see the West being any more tranquil, in reality than Imladris. I can't imagine, even after a number of Ages, that the Noldor, in particular, would never show a spark of anger, never indulge in a spot of intrigue... and be so peaceful that they are not in the least interested in the increase in population as elves arrived from the East!
Ha, she got them there! A nice comparison, and a great take on another argument of the twins. I literally see them squirm in this friendly battle of will.. *g*
