The latest hair brained scheme
sorry about not posting in so long... I've posted quite a bit in the meanwhile to my bebo site:

About 6 months ago I got it into my head that I would run off to Australlia for a year, working odd jobs and busking. What would have been more likely of couse, is that I would have ended up as 2 column inches on page 27, detailing the grisly end of yet another foreign backpacker.
Australlia was great while it lasted of course because it was a plan, an out, to what is at present the endless railroad tracks of my life.
I now have a new plan, slightly more realistic and achievable than the australlian plan.
I am going to spend the summer in the states, working odd jobs and busking.
For one, it's just a summer, as opposed to a year.
For two, it's 6 months off, so I can save up between now and then.
For three, I have far more people in the states I can rely on for a couch or a patch of floor for a week or two.
For four, I've already been there so I know something more of what to expect.
For five, there are far more people on forums (like RPG.net) that I frequent who can provide advice and intel on the states than on oz.
For six, it's not as far away.
So! This is looking like a far more realistic plan.
Concerns:
1. I would like of course to bring my cool Guild guitar, for all the busking and open mic sessions and jamming I plan on doing. This is a guitar worth about $2000.
2. I'm planning on buying a laptop in a few months... a mac book pro. This is another costly piece of hardware. It would be really convenient to bring it... it could have all my music, I could use it to store photos, and I could blog and be in contact with all you nice people. But, it's like, Aiiieee! What if it is stolen or damaged?
I must write emails to the people who's couches I'm planning on crashing on...
In the meantime, I plan on getting in better shape, and better on the guitar. I've been shockingly lax on the guitar actually... which I've already started to correct, but I've a long way to go to be back where I was last summer. The best way to solve this is to go back to the LV I think... having to play live on a stage in front of people and get the 2-3 songs I'm playing rehersed and what have you was one of the main reasons I was kicking ass over the summer.
So this tuesday sees my return to the LV!
