To answer the questions of my Australian friend:
1) Renting sheets does sound pretty dirty. It actually refers to sheets of ice on which the wonderful game of curling is played.
2) Curling is a much love game that Canadians probably excel at more than hockey although you wouldn't make a whole lot of money as a professional. In fact, most professionals have day jobs. It's played on sheets of ice and involves throwing rocks down the ice in the hopes getting it closest to the button in the middle of the house (bullseye at the end of the ice). And if you think that's strange, each team has 4 players, and while one of the players throws the rock, two others sweep the ice in front on the rock with brooms as it travels down the ice, while the 4rth player (the skip) yells at them. Afterwards, the winners buy the losers a beer and the two teams proceed to get very drunk together. If they are playing in a tournament (bonspeil) in makes the next game you play much more interesting. In fact curling is really just an elaborate excuse to drink a lot of beer.
Curling has a lot of sexual undertones that you might enjoy Bry. Such as the skip yells "hard" and "whoa" and other directions a lot as you try to hit that "button" or at least get in the "house". Of course, I think most sports have sexual undertones, especially football...
I'm going drinking...I mean...playing in a bonspeil this weekend.
