This is so amazing! I've been on an FF7 kick after some stories I've been following updated and I got to feeling nostalgic for some older pieces in the fandom. Most people are on AO3 and Tumblr these days, so I thought I'd take a look at some of my old LJ favorites. And, behold! You've updated in the years (3? 4?) since I've been gone! It's exactly as good as I remember it being. I love the balance of hope and despair Tifa and Aerith teeter between. The way Tifa slowly succumbs to mako poisoning is so disturbing and heartbreaking. The connection between Tifa going mute/unresponsive and her thoughts about taking a new face at the end of the section make me wonder if her subconscious memories of the Ohnegesichterin influenced here identify during her faceless period. Plus, Hojo dismissed Ohnegesichterin needing a death to properly imprint, but what I see here and what we know of canon makes me think otherwise...

The creeping influence of Jenova gave me the shivers! I love the image of a vine strangling the plant beneath it as it grows. Now that I've reached the end of this section I'm left imagining all the possibilities for the last part. How much of the main canon will remain the same? How's Tseng going to react when he learns that Aerith died? When he sees Tifa-as-Aerith? Will Hojo take what he learned here and apply it to the guys? Will there ever be a meet-up between Tifa-as-Aerith and Cloud-as-Zack? So many potential futures!

I'm definitely bookmarking this so I don't lose it again. Anyway, I hope you don't mind my keyboard smashing. This was so captivating that I've stayed up two hours late than I planned, lol. And I'm glad you enjoyed Hamilton so much

Thank you! I'm glad you remembered it and liked it! I'm slowly trying to get all my backlogged fic finished, so yeah, stuff is definitely going to get completed (and, if you read AO3, I'm over there, too - I'm "joudama").

And as for your wondering about the future, heh heh. There's one chapter left, and some of those things are going to happen.
