1. What’s your name?
Cassie.

2. What’s your Rikkai experience?
I loved them from the start. ☆ Saw the anime first (unfortunately), but was still immediately captivated, and I only grew fonder upon reading the manga arc.

3. What made you fall for the school?
Sanada. Sanada. Sanada. His devotion, his loyalty, his seriousness, his badassery, his huge hard-on for his captain, his captain, his team, the whole kdlsj;akl;adgha fucking mess.

4. Who do you like best in Rikkai?
Sanada? Sanada. And then Yukimura.

5. What’s Rikkai’s charm point?
Their incredible loyalty - to themselves as a team, each other as teammates and friends, Yukimura as their captain, Sanada as their vice-captain.

6. What do you call Buchou Yukimura Seiichi?
Yukimura or Seiichi.

7. Is his personality “Black” or “White”?
White. He's not inherently evil; none of them are. He's a good kid.

8. All the others are called things like “Emperor” and “Master”, but what would you call him?
He is the King~ of tennis. ♡ Screw Echizen.

9. What do you think the ones who lost their matches against Seigaku (Sanada, Yanagi, Kirihara) received as punishment?
They punished themselves with the knowledge that they'd lost, that they were letting their team and their captain down. Rikkaidai's self-discipline is very strict, perhaps thanks the most to Sanada.

10. Please write your overall opinion about Yukimura Seiichi.
Yukimura Seiichi is a beautiful creature through and through. He's an intelligent, ambitious, iron-willed boy with fire in his eyes and his heart, and dreams bigger than the whole fucking world, and he makes my heart ache to think about him.

11. What do you call Fukubuchou Sanada Genichirou?
Sanada or Gen'ichirou.

12. Would you like to try receiving his slap?
HAHA no. He carries a 26lb. ROCK in his bag. Fuck that.

13. Is he really a junior high student?
Alarmingly enough, yes.

14. What was your very first impression of him?
"He's such a jackass! SUCK THAT, ECHIZEN."

15. Please write your overall opinion about Sanada Genichirou.
Sanada Gen'ichirou is a serious-minded boy, perhaps too serious for his age, who holds strongly to the values and beliefs he's been brought up with, and his senses of devotion, duty, honour and loyalty are unnervingly strong.

16. What do you call Yanagi Renji?
Renji.

17. What was your impression when he opened his eyes?
I - don't remember. I remember thinking they should've been a dark jade green, though.

18. Which one do you prefer (with his eyes open or closed)?
Open, but barely. A calm, serene look with his eyes downcast really suits him.

19. What would you do if little!Renji (Yanagi Renji in his childhood) was wandering about?
Probably offer him an apple or something, and make sure he didn't need anything before leaving him be. ☆

20. Please write your overall opinion about Yanagi Renji.
Yanagi Renji is an elegant, calm, assured and nigh-unshakable individual. He's sharp-minded, quick-witted, but not sharp-tongued, and though he may seem aloof and held apart from some of his teammates, when push comes to shove, he's loyal. Perhaps he has mild problems connecting with people on a personal level?

21. What do you call Yagyuu Hiroshi?
Yagyuu.

22. Why do you think he is called “The Gentleman”?
Because to the outside world, he's pleasant, polite and cordial, the way a gentleman should be.

23. Do you approve of his thick glasses?
He does look good in glasses, but not so much of the opacity of them; he has beautiful eyes, and I'd like to, you know, see them. It's a misleading part of his appearance, though, which is, in a way, part of what he's all about.

24. How do you think he and Niou switched places in the Seigaku match?
I have to go with cinoberis' answer here: 'Carefully.'

25. Please write your overall opinion about Yagyuu Hiroshi.
Yagyuu Hiroshi is aloof and standoffish, holds the world at arms' length and holds himself back a lot. Once you've worked your way beneath his skin, though, he's a loyal and loving (if reserved) friend, unexpectedly so.

26. What do you call Niou Masaharu?
Niou.

27. Where do you think he comes from?
Nagoya. If it weren't for his transfer to Rikkai, he'd be attending Nagoya Seitoku.

28. Have you ever thoughtlessly used words like “Puri” and “Piyo” in daily conversations?
No, I can't say that I have.

29. Are there any recommendations about “Niou Masaharu”? (From which to which page…)
Aw, come on, I'm too lazy for something like this. |D;

30. Please write your overall opinion about Niou Masaharu.
Niou Masaharu is aloof and standoffish, holds the world at arms' length and projects himself forward a lot, which is why he doesn't seem aloof and standoffish. It's not that hard to earn his affection, though; he's looking for love, and if he decides he likes you, you've got yourself a friend for life - he'll go to great lengths for the people he loves.

31. What do you call Marui Bunta?
Marui and occasionally Bunta.

32. If Marui Bunta were to pair up with someone, who would you like it to be?
Not Jackal. They're heterolifemates. (See here.) I like him with Hyoutei's Akutagawa quite a bit, though.

33. What is Marui Bunta’s image color?
Bright. Bright magenta, bright green, etc.

34. Is he able to go on a diet?
I think he should. Seriously, he's like a diabetic time bomb.

35. Please write your overall opinion about Marui Bunta.
Marui Bunta is a lively, spirited boy with a penchant for the bright, loud and fun. He's friendly and easy to get along with, as long as you agree that he's pretty damn awesome. Despite his apparently flighty tendencies, though, he's quite down-to-earth and sensible.

36. What do you call Jackal Kuwahara?
Jackal.

37. What are Jackal Kuwahara’s good points?
He's responsible, friendly and generous.

38. What do you think about his hair (head)?
I bet it's fun to rub.

39. It is a bit off-topic, but his dad is... ?
Probably not the one who taught him to be responsible. I imagine his dad is pretty mellow and incredibly kind, the sort of guy who'd give the shirt off his back for a total stranger.

40. Please write your overall opinion about Jackal Kuwahara.
Kuwahara Jackal is a kind soul, and occasionally taken advantage of for it, but he knows how and when to say no. He doesn't mind selling his soul for the people he cares about, and likes to make friends with all kinds of people. Overall, he's also very down-to-earth and sensible, which is possibly why he and Bunta get along so well.

41. What do you call Kirihara Akaya?
Akaya.

42. What was your first impression of him?
"Someone's too big for his breeches." - Yes, that exact thing.

43. What would you do if you had a kouhai just like Kirihara Akaya?
Tease him mercilessly, but spoil him just as much.

44. Can Rikkai count on Kirihara Akaya next year?
Absolutely. He's become increasingly more stable over the course of the season, and with the off-season ahead to hone his skills (in tennis and in leadership), I think he'll make Yukimura proud next year.

45. Please write your overall opinion about Kirihara Akaya.
Kirihara Akaya is full of emotion, and it's always written all over his face. He's very emotionally driven, and is not known for his incredible skill at thinking things through, but everything he says and does comes from the heart. He's eager-to-please and desperately loving, a total charmer.

46. What is your favorite scene of the show?
That's a little hard to say, but if I had to choose a Rikkai-related moment, it would definitely be when Sanada wiped the court with Echizen prior to the Kantou finals.

47. Have you registered the word “Rikkai” so that it is converted in one shot?
If I had Japanese text entry, I would. ☆

48. Do you contribute to the Rikkai fandom?
Totally. thelettersix.

49.What made you want to do it?
Sanada. ' Never-Say-Die' was one of my earliest (or my earliest serious) Rikkai pieces. It's a reflection on Sanada, his character, and how he looks at Yukimura in relation to his world. Even though it was written over a year ago, just months after I got into the series, I still love it. I think I nailed him right off the bat.

50. Since when have you been active (in the Rikkai fandom)?
My earliest venture was November 17, 2006, according to my writing journal, with a crack piece called 'Quality Time,' which I'm not linking because A) it's locked and B) I don't want to read it again in case it sucks, so C) I don't want anyone else to read it if they haven't already. >>;

51. Has the number of devotees (fans) increased?
No, I don't think so. There are still the stalwart few, but many have redirected their attention to Shitenhouji, and Nationals finals have even brought some back to the home team.

52. Has anything changed?
See above. Many fans have moved onto Shitenhouji, and the Nationals finals arc is making a lot of people dislike Rikkai.

53. What were the good things you got from contributing to the fandom?
Compliments and constructive criticism on my writing, better direction for characterization, and all-around encouragement.

54. On the other hand, was there any occasion you found yourself upset?
Very rarely, and never much. Occasionally, I would find that a piece I particularly liked wasn't getting as much attention as a piece I didn't like as much, but there's no accounting for taste, is there? Besides, I don't write to satisfy other people. I write to satisfy myself, so I don't get too fussed when people don't like my work much.

55. By the way, does your family know about this?
Yes. My mother's heard all about Sanada and Yukimura, and my whole family's seen the Rikkai binsen on my wall.

56. Are there any pairings you like?
Sanada/Yukimura, Niou/Yagyuu, Renji/Akaya, Sanada/Akaya, Yukimura/Akaya, Niou/Akaya, Niou/Yukimura, Niou/Renji, Sanada/Renji, Yukimura/Renji, Sanada/Niou, Sanada/Renji/Yukimura, Niou/Yagyuu/Akaya, Sanada/Renji/Yukimura/Akaya, Sanada/Renji/Yukimura/Akaya/Niou/Yagyuu/Marui/Jackal. I'm not big on pairing Marui and Jackal with the others. Somehow, I feel that they're both (at least mostly) straight.

57. Who are the easiest to write?
For me? Sanada, then Akaya. I can also write Niou and Marui, but Niou's slippery and my grasp on Marui isn't as strong as I'd like. By virtue of being able to write Niou, I can also write Yagyuu in some margin. I've written Yukimura before and felt pretty good about it, but it requires a certain mood and mindset.

58. What about the hardest ones?
I think I covered that above, but just for further clarification: I've never written Jackal or Renji, and my grasp on Marui isn't too hot. On a good day, Yagyuu's easy and Niou's easier, but on a bad day, they're both nigh-impossible. Yukimura's all right, but hard to touch sometimes.

59. Please tell us your best masterpiece!
My best Rikkai piece? I guess in terms of ~masterpiece~, I'd have to name ' Kinesics' (locked, explicit sex; comment here to be added), my Rikkai orgy fic. In terms of which I like the best, perhaps 'Little Obsessions,' a Sanada/Yukimura fluff-fest to shake the ages.

60. On the other hand, are there any works you were hesitant about whether to share or not?
See above reference to 'Quality Time.' I'm also not fond of 'Take Heart.'

61. Who was the first character you wrote?
Technically, Yukimura and then Sanada, because 'Quality Time' came before 'Never-Say-Die,' but I first wrote Sanada seriously.

62. How long does it take for you to finish writing a fic?
Given that I only write drabbles, usually just a few hours, tops.

63. What do you think when writing a fic?
I think about the characters, their personalities and feelings and how they might react to ______.

64. How much time do you devote to Rikkai?
More than to most of the other schools.

65. Manga? Anime? Radio? Musical?
Manga preferred, anime acceptable but barely, never got into Rajipuri, and myu!Rikkai is awesome but could be a lot better if they'd stop making Yagami sing out of his range.

66. Are there any schools you like besides Rikkai?
Hyoutei and Shitenhouji, but I don't dislike any of the schools, really.

67. Since the end is close, please claim all the love you have for Rikkai.
ALWAYS WIN.

68. Is there anything you’d like to say to the author, Konomi Takeshi-sensei?
Rock on, man. Rock the hell on. Also, are you by chance also known as Kubo Tite? :D?

69. For you, the school called “Rikkaidai Fuzoku Chuu” is... ?
Always winner. ♡

70. Congratulations on answering all the 70 questions! Please leave a final message here!
This meme was actually pretty cool. ☆

memes, animanga: tenipuri, always win rikkaidai, rikkai
