it's been almost two years since i last posted. and i've left my apartment. seen a divorce. seen a breakup. seen a few mountains. seen steel chambers and blocks of lead fall like dust off my shoulders.
it's a lovely time to catch the wind. the only thing on my mind is whether or not i'm hitchhiking next week, or stealing a dime to get to new orleans for a day or two, why? sounds nice to volunteer in the 9th ward. for a good time. and i got good times. and i got physique.
it's a lovely time to catch the wind. know anyone leaving tennessee with an open seat? i'll be back in austin soon. then we can watch barn swallows maneuver in the dark. we paint an outline on the face of golden-cheeked warbler.
and the ride to the valley will be a nice chat with my ex-wife. she's amazing. we talked for an hour tonight on the tele. told me about a boy she would have left me for. but also tried to convince me that i would fall in love with her again. i told her i might climb mount rainier next year. i don't know if she heard me.
it's a lovely time to catch the wind. i want to record the sound of the highway tonight. reading suttree with a soundtrack that seeps through my sister's living room window like such makes for a future endeavor that could be that dangerous kind of gentle. the kind of gentle my ears can stand for the stroke of brush or the taste of the skin. i thought, 1, 2, 3, twenty-four hours of highway sounds. 1am. 2am. 3am. i'm not sure who would be fond of my tape collection.
it's a lovely time to catch the wind. welcome back.
