Japan store tours, Milky Berry, Milky Planet, Angelic Pretty reserves, and more!

I know we don't update our own journal as often as we should. We'll try to do better in that area from now on, but lest you think there's nothing going on with us, make sure you check out our blog regularly. That's really Tokyo Rebel central, where you'll find all the most important updates. Like, for example, did you know we just got back from Japan and have posted photos and videos from all of our brand stores that we missed last year? (Ok, some of you probably saw our post on Angelic Poodle and heartsnspiders 's post on EGL,but others maybe not.) That includes PUTUMAYO, Atelier-Pierrot, MAXICIMAM, Innocent World, Victorian maiden and Angelic Pretty! Check it out!
Now, down to brass tax. We just recently received Angelic Pretty's Milky Berry, which you can see Asuka wearing above (a bigger version of that pic is on our blog). White and pink are almost sold out, but we still have plenty of mint and one black one-piece! Pick them up while you still can!
AP's next series is Milky Planet, and a lot of people have been asking us about it. Now, you may have seen other retailers saying they "have it", others talking about reserve slots, etc. The simple truth is that all retailers outside of Japan will get this series at the same time, none of us have it yet and nobody other than AP themselves is authorized to take reserves for it. Everybody's playing by the same rules. AP does not play favorites.
Around the time that Wonder Cookie came out (another hugely popular series), we also had a lot of people asking us about reserves. We wrote a blog post at that time about it - read this and burn it into your memories. There is a lot of misinformation and confusion about Angelic Pretty's release system out there, and we're aiming to clear that up. There's nothing worse than a retailer that over-promises and under-delivers, so our pledge to you has always been that we'll be straight with you about what we can and can't do. We would encourage all other retailers to adopt that same philosophy for the good of the industry outside of Japan. Sometimes it feels like we're swimming against the tide in adhering to this philosophy, and it really shouldn't be that way.
We are always working hard to convince our brands to do more for us, which means doing more for you in the end. (This was part of the reason for our recent overseas trip - we met for a looooooong time with many of our brands, including AP.) So we'll see what happens in the future.
That said, we will have Milky Planet, and we will have it in stock, at our New York store, around the same time as other retailers and just shortly after AP themselves. We will make an announcement once our shipment is imminent - not before.
Now, in other brand news, one brand we are authorized to take reserves for (and no one else is) is Victorian maiden. And we've got a new batch of reserve items up on our site in the Blanche Lace series. These are some really interesting prints - check them out! (Scroll down the reserve page until you get to the products.) There's only one more day until the reserve period on these ends!
And lastly, you know, it may not seem like it lately but we are not just a Lolita store! We're going to have some big news in our punk area pretty soon, and some new stock too! So watch for that!
