Yep. I'm finally starting to feel better, but I'm still having problems shaking in the Tireds. Of course, some of that might also be from the return of the all the crappy weather.
I can't actually remember what the title for my presentation is. How lame is that?!! But I'm giving a presentation on compiling community resources under the Public Policy banner. Strangely enough, I started this work before Fall semester and I've had to start using it at the museum.
The department is supposed to be getting a suite for the conference this year. Rumour has it that it's some place where we can all crash for the duration. I'm not sure if I'm going to try and get a hotel room, or contact a friend of mine in Baltimore and stay with her. Part of me wants to make this a mini-vacation, so I can see another friend in Langley ... or get M to come up with me so we can see DC and go see my friend in Langley.
It might be better if you started saving up for the 2011 conference. I hear it's supposed to be in Seattle. :D
I'm alive, I promise. I'm just in Weird Limbo Land. You should have come to the Symposium - I think you'd of enjoyed it! The proceedings are online so you can read all about it. Love that they do that.
AND! I fully expect you to use your resources to do a professional conference mini-session at the museum. Think of it as a practice run for a couple of presenters...with a resume byline. Good way for the museum to reach out to local art educators and the museum/admin community. And a great way to get people in the door and let them see what the museum has to offer. They just need to do it as a community service and not charge for it. Bring your favorite local photo lady (*ahem*) in and I'm sure this would get at least one newspaper write up.
If I ever get to start making money I will be putting some aside for Seattle. Been dreaming about that area forever!Bet I can buy epic rainboots and umbrellas there...
Can we get together for a cider, beer, or whiskey sometime?
Bet I can buy epic rainboots and umbrellas there... Yes, on the epic rainboots. No, on the umbrellas. There's a reason why you always see people in the PacNW with jackets and ballcaps. The wind gusts will shred an umbrella in nothing flat.
I've got me schedule for next week, but not with me right now. I think I've got one day off during the week and a couple of afternoons/evenings off. A cider or a whiskey is sounding pretty good right now, too.
