Yaoi stuff
YONEDA KOU IS BAAAAAAAACK!!! *flails everywhere* God, it's been so long since her last chapter (the samurai one, I think), so I'm incredibly happy >.<
AND IT GETS BETTER.
Tadayoedo Shizumazu, Saredo Naki mo Sezu is my favorite work of hers, and also one of my favorite yaoi. So imagine my utter delight when I found out today that there is a sequel. Yup yup, another addition to the Don't Stay Gold verse, and now with the first chapter scanlated by Dangerous Pleasure (thank you!).
Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai. As it focuses on Yashiro, I consider it more of a Tadayoedo sequel rather than a Don't Stay Gold sequel. And the art is as effin beautiful as ever. I hadn't realized how much I missed Yoneda-sensei's works until I came upon this chapter. SO. DARN. GORGEOUS. However, I'm having mixed feelings about this. As I've mentioned, I love Tadayoedo. What makes it so wonderful is Yashiro's unrequited love- angsty, but wonderfully so. Now I would love for him to find his happy ending, I really do, but if he ends up with Doumeki (keep thinking of xxxHolic's Doumeki), than it seems like that unrequited love of his will be gone, and, for me, a part of Tadayoedo- the part that makes it so beautiful- will be gone with it. It's incredibly selfish and unreasonable of me to not want Yashiro to move on, but I just really really really love Tadayoedo, and I don't want anything to change or add onto it. But as this is Yoneda-sensei and I absolutely adore Yashiro in all his badass sluttiness, I'm sure that I will come to love Saezuru (it's already growing on me).
And Yoneda Kou is not the only one that's back- Matoh Sanami is back too! Well, not that she was gone or anything, but the scanlated third volume for Fake: Second is finally out ^.^ As it's been, what, over a year, I had given up on it, so I'm insanely glad for the update. Thank you, everyone at yes_rhade_djs! And then I found out that there was also a smut dj. Happy days, very happy days indeed. The Fake series is one of those prime examples of art changes after a significant time lapse, and how. The original series and the sequel look nothing alike, but that's okay since I love them both (though Ryo's hair in the sequel looks a bit odd). The mysteries and the humor are still as good as ever, and I look forward to finding out more about their new boss. Ah, though I must say, shirtless!Dee in the third volume is absolutely mouthwatering. Lucky Ryo (who's not so bad himself *leers*) and J.J. (oh J.J. XD)
Backtracking now. MUJIHI NA ANATA. I think I've fangirled quite a bit about how Mujihi na Otoko is my absolute favorite yaoi and how I was very excited for the sequel. Truthfully, I was planning on waiting for either the entire volume to come out (yeah right) or a scanlation group to officially pick it up (more reasonable). Let's just say that my resolve is very weak OTL But now the problem is actually reading it. I randomly clicked on a page, just for a little taste, and when I saw it, I totally forgot to breathe. Seriously. I was fangirling that hard. So yeah, I had to drop it for the time being. But now my curiosity is spiked, and I am determined to make it through the whole chapter even if it kills me (and it just might). IKUZE!!!
While Tadayoedo is my favorite work from Yoneda Kou, Aoi Hitsuji no Yume is my favorite work from Tateno Makoto. It has a strong uke (though he still cries a lot more than I would like) who can mostly hold his own in a fight and is in a tension-filled relationship with a hot seme. Just my type of story~ And on a side note, while I prefer brunettes, I must say that Ratri is smokin' hot. Love his hair :D I frankly did not love Steal Moon (aside from the RatrixKai moments, the only thing worth reading for) as this is just so much better. The sexual tension, I tell you, the sexual tension (and the fact that they can both fight). Probably one of the things I enjoy most about this series is how Ratri and Kai have sex while discussing the day's work (they did that in Steal Moon too ^.^); guess that saying about mixing business and pleasure doesn't apply to them.
Me wants moar yaoi.....
