One of his first memories was the smell of motor oil from his father’s hands. The smell of evenings when mom was working, dad was fixing his motorcycle, he was eating ice-cream with Bill. The heart of his dysfunctional childhood.

He speeds up, tires grab the road like the paws of a metallic beast.

Down below, the sea waves restlessly. The storm is coming, first raindrops hitting heavily on a tarmac. He drowns in the roar of an engine, in the memories and the smell of motor oil.

It hasn’t been raining in months.

And the raindrops feel like tears.
