The One Where I Make a Vow...
"What vow?" you may be thinking. Well let me explain further.
I'll give you a very short background story. I don't post very often here on Live Journal. Though I would like to. I think I just need to get into the habit of posting. So here is where the vow part steps in to play. I vow to post everyday this week (from Sunday through Saturday) so that I may get into the habit of posting more; and if by the end of the week, I've posted rigorously like I've vowed just now I'll decided what to do from there in terms of posting.
So in the spirit of vow-ness I hereby declare this post #1 in my 7 days of post. Let it be known that this post I am now posting of the 7 will be the first. Otherwise known as post 1/7. (Does this remind you Monty Python? If not go watch the Holy Grail and come back here and you'll know what I mean. LOL)
Ok so for my 1/7 post I wanted to do a meme that I thought up walking my dog this evening. I'm not sure if I'm the first one that thought of this or not... but I don't really care. I'd like to do it either way. Here goes!
RULES: Put all your music on shuffle and write a short paragraph of your thoughts on the first 10 songs. You're not limited in words or the length of the song in writing. Just have fun with it. If you want to add more songs, go ahead! If you think 10 is too many and you think it should be 5, go ahead! This is just to show your flist what random stuff comes up and what you've been listening too. =D

Hm... as I listen to this song I recognize it... but I don't really remember a whole lot about it. It's really pretty though. Sorta slow and Tacky sorta overpowers Tsubasa's voice unless it's a solo part. Which is sad because I really like Tsubasa's voice. But I like Tacky's too so I'm not complaining I guess. OH! It's got a nice acoustic guitar solo in the middle of it! I like that! I sped read the lyrics really quick because I'm not familiar with this song (goes to show I download waaay too much music that I never get around to listening to it all LOL) and it seems like a cute little love song. All in all... its a relaxing song that I wouldn't mind putting on my "night night sleepy time" play list. P.S. no laughing at my play list name!

Wherever You Are by ONE OK ROCK from the Niche Syndrome Album
O... M... G... this song... *tears up* is so effing beautiful. Seriously. I love this song so much! This album just came out a few months ago and I really love it... but this has to be one of my top favorite songs on it. It's a really great rock ballad and Taka's english (which there is a lot of... it's like 1/2 english if not more) is AMAZING!!! He's so easy to understand! And the chorus... it's so moving... *sigh* I can't go on about how much I love this song. It's soft... yet it has a lot of power behind it. His voice is so great for this song... I can't see any one else pulling off the vocals for this song the way he does. The way he goes from almost a soft whisper to the powerful rock sound that we hear so much... it's amazing... and for every song he just makes it fit. Yeah... this is a really great song... anyone on my flist that reads this and hasn't heard this song... please... do yourself a favor and go find it youtube or something... you won't be sorry you did.

Miraa Baru (Mirror Ball) by Kimeru from his Glorious album
Hm... Kimeru was one of the first Japanese artists I ever heard. I dunno how popular he is or if you've ever heard of him... but I loved his stuff way back when. But that was before I knew where to look or that I could even download all this great Asian music. So when I stumbled across him a few years later I jumped to download it. But for some reason my love for his stuff was like... gone. So I've never really listened to this song that I can remember... Sadly... that's all I can say and from lisening to it... I don't like it much now either... LOL

Justify by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus from the Don't You Fake it Album
GASP! I do actually listen to music from my own country! XD Some might be surprised... LOL but when I do it's usually punk rock or alternative rock. TRJA falls into this category. This isn't my favorite track from the album... but I do like the song quite a bit! It's rather angry and deals with the falseness of our current society and how we all try to fit ourselves into these tini little boxes the media defines as people and how they know (the band) it'll be our downfall. Something like that LOL. As for the sound of the song... well when it comes to TRJA it's hard for me not to like anything from them. It's a great song... go check it out! =D

Kinki Kids Forever (english version) by Kinki Kids from the 39 Album
Wow... I remember this song! I went through a Kinki phase about a year and half ago that lasted about a month where I listened to this album a lot. I remember going to school on the bus in the morning and listening to this song. The song isn't anything special musically and their English isn't really that amazing either but it's passable. But it's the catchy-ness of the chorus that just makes me wanna sing along! And the lyrics are so uplifting!!! I would listen to this song when I felt down and it lifted me right back up. =D

My random player-ness sucks! XD LOL Back to Kimeru again. But I actually know this song! And I still really like this one compared to the others. I love the synth in this song! It sounds like... mystical to me... and makes me imagine water. LOL That sounds really weird I bet. Haha. But yeah... this song is similar to all his stuff... fast paced pop with lot's of really weak auto tune. But somehow I can't find it in myself to dislike the catchy tune and beat. And that one "tink" metallic sound... XD It's not amazing but it's a fun song! One of the better songs by Kimeru.

Galileo by LM.C from the Gimmical Impact!! album
I really like LM.C. But I don't really know this song. For me... I know LM.C as the Japanese rock band that has really weird song titles like "Sentimental Piggy Romance" and equally weird sounding songs... but I really like some of it! As for this song... as I listen to it... it's pretty generic sounding and isn't the "weird" that I look for in their stuff... but it's not bad. The instrument break has like a billion and one different instruments passing the melody around like a hot potato which is pretty cool. I like that. The first minute was rap that was so so but once he starts singing it got better. I recommend checking them out! When I say weird... it's in the best possible way! =D

Finally something Korean! Whoo! Ok so like... I fell in love with them from this album. But this song wasn't one of the reasons why. It's a ballad. A really slow ballad. I don't really like ballads unless I'm going to sleep to it. LOL But I don't deny that this is a really pretty song. The vocals are great; each member of this group is amazing in that department. But there's this one part in the song where Jungmin does this RnB like solo bit... OMG... O_O... blows me away every time! His voice is so strong... like... powerful strong. That might just be my bias showing because he's my favorite... LOL But yeah... it's a pretty song... and if you like ballads... check it out! =D

O_O... another OOR song! =D You know... for me even if I really like a band there's bound to be a few songs from them you don't really care for right? Well OOR is one of those bands where you just LOVE everything! Well... for me it's like that. This song is no exception. I don't know it by name but I could hum it from start to end like you wouldn't believe! XD LOL It's sort of mid tempo rock thats pretty easy listening. The guitar riffs are really pretty in this song and Taka does that whisper to power voice thing in this song a little too. I really like that so the more the better! =D What more else is there to say? This is a great song... go listen to it!

What did I say about the weird names? See... I wasn't lying! XD This is one of those semi strange songs... but I really like it! I don't know it very well but it opens great with this "Woa oh! Woa oh!" sorta themes and I really like those... XD LOL does that make any sense? Haha. I really like this 3 second guitar riff that sounds like something classical before it goes into something different... it's really neat. This is a really up beat get you going song! It's lots of fun to listen to! Give it shot you guys!
Oh my gosh... 10 songs went by way too fast. And so many duplicate bands! T_T I'll do this again sometime and you'll get to see more what what I listen to. Ah! Idea! here I'll just post the titles of the next 10 songs and maybe we'll get some verity.
