4 times Chinen Reached Out to Ryutaro and 1 Time Ryutaro Reached Back

.:1:.

The morning was early and the sun bright as Ryutaro walked into the Jimusho that morning. But all did not fare well for our poor protagonist this fine morning. No, for Ryutaro, the morning was just a little too early, the sun a little too bright and his little brother, Shintaro, a little too annoying.

“Ne…Onii-chan, can I borrow your game today?” Shintaro asked in an overly sweet voice.

Ryutaro’s eyebrows furrowed, “NO! Not after what you did last time.”

“But it was an accident!”

“Well you’re too accident prone! Now leave me alone.” Ryutaro turned down the hallway to the Hey! Say! JUMP dressing room leaving his brother behind.

Sighing he opened the door and walked in the room with a quiet, “Morning,” and dropped his bag on the floor next to the couch he decided to plop down on.

“Good morning!” Came the chipper voice of Chinen, the only other person in the room. He hopped up out of his seat and made his way over to Ryutaro only to make him self comfortable in the others lap.

“Chinen! What are you doing?!” Ryutaro tried to push the smaller boy off his lap to no avail; with arms wrapped around his neck Chinen was effectively glued to him.

When Ryutaro gave up Chinen let go, leaning back and looking at the younger boy, “But you looked like you needed a hug!”

.:2:.

All the other members had arrived for practice and Chinen finally pulled himself off of Ryutaro to go sit on Daiki’s lap not long before Yabu declared they now had to get to work. With many moans and groans the members pulled themselves back up and shuffled to the practice room where the instructor was waiting.

Not long after practice had gotten underway Ryutaro’s steps became heavy with fatigue. He started to really regret not getting enough sleep the night before and skipping breakfast that morning.

“Ryutaro!!! Why!? Why do you do this to me?!” The instructor wailed as she glared evilly at the poor boy. “Just…just go sit out for a while!” She said in a huff as she tried to gather her annoyance and calm down.

He did as he was told and watched the rest of the group continue to dance with a disappointed look on his face. After some time the instructor called for a break and hurried out of the room.

While the others were busy chatting and sipping their water bottles, Chinen walked over to Ryutaro, “Ryutaro?” The younger boy looked up warily, “Are you alright? You look really tired.” The older member sat down next to him on the floor, pulling Ryutaro’s head onto his shoulder, “If you can, just sleep okay?”

Ryutaro nodded and closed his eyes, drifting off into a quiet slumber.

.:3:.

As dance practice came to a close, Ryutaro sighed in relief and was glad he didn’t have to hear the instructor yelling at him anymore. He couldn’t really help that he had to stay up late to work on homework…again. The sounds and smells of lunchtime floated down the hallway as he made his way into the dressing room once more.

After sitting down and pulling out his own bento he remembered that his mom had been rather busy that morning and hadn’t had the time to make a lot for lunch. Holding his breath in anticipation he peeked inside the lid, only to let it out as a sad sigh when he saw the three onigiri that occupied his lunch bento.

“Ah…was your mom busy again?” Ryutaro looked up to see Chinen taking the seat next to him and opening his own full bento. Nodding sadly Ryutaro picked up one of his onigiri and took a small bite. In three bites it was gone, and in nine he was done. Silently he closed his bento again, hunger still rumbling at his sides.

“Here,” he looked over to see Chinen holding some sausage out to him with his chopsticks, “have some of mine, I can’t eat it all. Come on, have some.” Ryutaro regarded Chinen’s smile and decided to lean forward and take what was offered. “It’s good na?” Ryutaro nodded with what seemed to be the first smiled he’d had all day.

.:4:.

Glancing out the window Ryutaro thought for the umpteenth time that day that the sun was entirely too bright now that the dull ache behind his eyes was only getting worse. As hard as he tried to remember, he could think of a day that had ever been as terrible as this.

After being thrown out of dance practice for the third time, he just left and went back to the dressing room to try and ease his headache. Closing the blinds and shutting the lights off did little to ease the pain but it was better than nothing. Laying down on one of the couches, Ryutaro pulled his elbow over his eyes with a loud sigh. Could the day get any worse? He didn’t want to jinx anything…

Just as he thought he might cry out of pain and frustration, the door opened and a small crack of light entered the room. “Ryutaro? Are you in here?” He heard Chinen call out.

“Yes,” he replied weakly.

Spotting Ryutaro on the couch, Chinen made his way over after closing the door, “You sound terrible, are you okay?”

Sighing, he removed his arm from over his face, “No, I have a splitting headache and it’s not getting any better.” He could almost see Chinen’s look of concern in the dark room and did see his gesture to lean up for a moment. When he did, Chinen sat where his head had been and pulled Ryutaro back down so that his head was resting in his lap.

“My mom always does this and it always helps me,” He said as he took his thumb and forefinger and rubbed small circles on Ryutaro’s forehead. “Ryutaro is having a really bad day today. I’m sorry.”

Ryutaro didn’t say anything as he felt his headache melting away at Chinen’s touch.

.:5:.

Finally, the work day was over. Not that Ryutaro could say he’d done much just short of sleeping all day.

Walking out of the dressing room he saw his brother waiting outside the door with a tired face. “Nii-chan! I was so bored today with no game to play!”

“I’m still not letting you have it…” Ryutaro replied with a sleepy sigh. As his brother began to whine more about the game he tuned it out in favor of remembering all the things that Chinen had done for him that day. But before he could get past lunch, Chinen himself showed up as his side.

“So, going home?” The older boy asked. Ryutaro nodded. “Well take care, see you tomorrow.”

“Yeah, see you.”

Chinen watched him leave the Jimusho with a sad smile, but reminded himself that he only had to wait until the next morning to see Ryutaro. He was pulled out of his reverie when he felt a pair of arms make their way around him in a small hug. Realizing who it was, Chinen hugged the other back with a content smile. Pulling back he saw Ryutaro’s tired smile.

“Thanks for today,” He said as he picked up his bag and walked out the door for a second time, “I’ll see you tomorrow!”

Authors Note: Was that cute enough? Last night I was in a Chiitaro mood and vowed to writed one today. I'm just sad Ryutaro's hampser didn't make the cut! LOL
