Funky house music time.
The bank holiday weekend was worked out, in the end. As it turned out, Catie and Twiggy had a massive falling out at our friend Sally's wedding on the Saturday night, so probably nobody went to the music festival in the end. Dramatic.
As for me, I recorded my vocals on Saturday for the football song. Carl from Cud is on it too, he's moderately famous if you like 80s/90s Northern indie bands. The whole thing should be mixed by the end of the week and there's even talk of doing a video.
On Saturday night, Sam and I drank wine with Tim and Jo and we did stupid facepaints. I painted an upside down face on Sam so that when he hung upside down he looked like a lady. It was pretty freaky. Tim did an applaudable robot face for Jo, very impressive. Apparently I sulked about Sam painting a bright orange psycho doll face on me, but I really don't remember anything of the sort.
On Sunday we went over to Dobcross to visit my uni friends Richard and Rayne, and their very cute 8 month old baby Gwen. I introduced them to each other in the Cockpit way back when, so I suppose the baby is slightly down to me. I don't get to keep it though, unfortunately.
Then we wended our way over the Pennines to see Rob and Suzy in Hebden Bridge, and spent a very boozy afternoon/evening in the pub. I think I may have formed another band. A rock band. We'll see.
On Monday we went to Katie's and watched the Road, which was thoroughly fucking depressing. I liked looking at Katie's retro side cabinet though, and had a nice cup of tea. I don't get on well with depressing films.
Yesterday was my interview in Morley.... seemed to go well.... watch this space, I guess. Am supposed to be teaching my first Powerplate classes on Friday too, which I am doubly bricking myself about.
Script meeting today. I have had a new and brilliant idea, and it has cheered the team up. So that's nice. We're contemplating just writing the whole thing ourselves. I'm feeling quite pleased with myself to be honest.
Really want it to be the weekend now. I know we've had a day off and all that, but 4 day weeks after bank holidays somehow never seem any shorter than the standard 5 day ones.
