It's impossible to keep oneself from making an impression on history as a person, especially when one lives for so terribly long. It's possible to erase a lot of the tracks left behind, but there will always be something. Stories are left in the earliest memories of a people as folklore and grand tales. They're just assumed to be unfounded myths, only there to instill moral values or to entertain. How little they really know.

Luckily though, time twists the absolute reality of the story. If the people ever knew the original characters in their lore yet walked among them, who knew what could come of it? The heroes are retold with different backgrounds and powers, yet share the same name. The outcomes may be different, but at the heart of the tale is the truth. No, he never married any princess or rode flying horses. He did search for the firebird with the threat of execution upon failure and he did convince a corrupt nobleman to perish in boiling milk. He did prove to the people that the fool is not always entirely foolish. Russia always feels a bit of pride when some retells the tales of Ivan the Fool.
