Сегодня ночью под обстрел попал и в результате сгорел дом Ксении Корчмы - женщины, у которой было 5 своих детей и она приняла ещё семь приёмных. Это был первый семейный детский дом в Славянске. "Les bombardements ont commencé dès que j'ai posté mon dernier message hier. J'étais dans la chambre au deuxième étage quand le premier obus a frappé la maison .. Je me suis d'abord assise derrière le canapé, mais mon fils a crié d’en bas me demandant si j’aétais encore en vie et m’a dit de descendre .. des choses avaient déjà été détruit. pieds nus sur les fragments je suis descendu et courut vers le sous-sol, immédiatement une deuxième explosion a secoué la maison .. Ils y en a eu beaucoup .. Quelque chose a explose à proximité, mais le souffle de l'explosion a secoué les murs, mais ils sont surtout tombés sur nous. Nous avons un grand sous-sol et il a enduré avec dignité toutes les explosiosns. Environ une vingtaine .. Il y en avait tous les trois à cinq secondes, puis pause de cinq ou dix minutes et encore .. et ainsi pendant plus d'une heure. nous avons prié tout le temps, et je pense que c’est un miracle de Dieu si nous sommes en vie ... Nous aurions du etre tués par les explosions, l'effondrement des fondations et le feu ..

Xenia Korchma’s house was bombed and burnt tonight. Xenia, a mother of 5 and a foster mother of 7, runs a foster home in Slaviansk, now the ground zero of the civil war in Eastern Ukraine. The house had been freshly self-built by the family.

As if her own family was not enough to worry about, she had also been helping her neighbours in Slaviansk who she said were “even worse off”, buying food and giving out donated money to the elderly and families in trouble. Now Xenia’s family are themselves homeless and in trouble.

Xenia’s daughter Katia wrote on her mother’s Facebook page this morning:
“It’s a miracle my parents are alive. They could have been burnt five times by now. It all started at 11.45pm, everyone ran to the basement and prayed, and God saved them. The bombs were getting right into our house and there were about 100 explosions. The house and car are destroyed.”
