Approaching the end of the Acrtic Front... for now

Jan 17, 2009 10:11

So yes, I was in the area affected by that famous Arctic Front... had some fun couple of days with temperatures under 10ºF, and windchills up to -17ºF below! The walk from my car to the front door at work always ended up with numb legs! I cannot even imagine how you could be outside for more than 10 minutes. All week was nothing more than going to and back from work, minimum time outside, warming up inside. It's weather that makes you grateful that you have a warm home to go to. Hearing about the huge gas debacle in Europe only makes it that much more precious.

So chugging along the fitness program. Most of my meals this week were properly measured, and I'm into the mentality that if it's not portioned out as part of my meal plan, it's not going into my mouth. I do have some trips coming up soon, so I'll have to adjust to that. As for the exercise routine, I joined the gym at work and had a fitness evaluation to understand how horribly out of shape I am ^^; The good thing is that the excess weight seems to be the only thing going against me (flexibility and strength are good). Now, I just have to find the proper scheduling to fit in the necessary exercise, and hopefully I can turn that into a habit :)

Well, here's hoping the weather does go up those 10ºF we were promised. To think I'd be happy to see mid-twenties weather in the forecasts!
