Some little things I found interesting about BBC's Luther

So, I am watching BBC's psychological crime drama Luther and I am really liking it (though I have online seen three episodes so far) and I'd like to talk about some things I found intriguing.
Spoilers Ahead!!!!!!!!Spoilers Ahead!!!!!

First of all, Hooray for a person of color being a main character on a show. We need a bunch more of this, everywhere!
OMG, I love what Idris Elba is doing with Luther . I mean Luther is definitely what I would call a morally gray character. He takes justice into his own hands but I can also tell he is a genuinely good man. He honestly wants to solve crimes and bring the dead some peace.
Another thing I find very interesting about this show is Alice. She is definitely not a good person (she is a killer in fact) but she is charming and incredibly intelligent and insightful. Watching her and Luther interact, a nagging feeling kept coming up...this woman kept reminding me of someone and then I realized she reminded me of Killua from Hunter x Hunter. Ok, I know, giant leap there but let me explain. Sure, at first sight these two do not seem to have much in common but they really do. First of all, killua and Alice are both known to be extremely smart and perceptive. They are also very good liars and can very expertly deceive people with their outward (innocent) appearances. Finally, they both found people who fascinate them. For Alice it's Luther and for Killua, it's Gon. Plus, they even used similar words to describe said people. Alice says that Luther "shines brightly" and Killua says that Gon "is the light".
I'd like to add that i found it very interesting that a kinda-friendship-thing was forming between Luther and Alice. I mean, he knows she is a killer and is very dangerous yet he still ends up talking to her in a weirdly friendly way( though who knows this may change as the series goes on). The only other example I see where a bad person (villain) does not want to actually harm the "hero" but is merely fascinated by them is in HxH (and perhaps the Hannibal movies and books). I'm sure there are other examples out there but i just can't think of them right now (kinda like when someone asks you what your favorite movie is and nothing comes up). So, there ya have it! My little thing I wanted to share.
Till next time lovelies,
