Go Manage Something

I got to play manager at Hallowboo this weekend!

It was...nerve-wracking.

I'm not the manager. Its either George, or neither of us and Idlewild is just giving everyone a go in an attempt to get out of paying anyone manager pay. This is actually the theory we're all going with.

I had fun though. JD kept wandering over throughout the day to check on me. The hardest thing about managing the Jungle is running breaks and rotations because you have to constantly keep track of who is where, how long they've been there, who's on break, and if they're on time. It really screws you up when someone wanders back late from break.

Well, no. On a regular day, with no "special" circumstances, its not that big of a deal. We were fine Saturday even though the two maintenance guys running swings and slide each took 45 minute breaks (we're only supposed to go 30). Sunday got messy because Brandon had to go home early so I had to have breaks done by five. Brandon was the rotation starter, but he came in late to begin with, so breaks got started a half an hour late and needless to day, my break was cut in about half in order to get Brandon out on time. I would have just let him deal with a late out if he wasn't a minor. I mean, it was his own fault the breaks ran over to begin with.

But, since he was a minor, I had to be good about letting him go on time. And I did. Go me.

I'm glad I had these two days to manage though, even if I'm not the real thing. I'm glad I saw that I can actually do it. I mean, Sean let me play manager one night over the summer, but breaks were done by then and I really just had to make sure the gates were locked and the blowers were off when I left. Hell, I did that as a default team member some nights, so it wasn't really a stretch.

It was fun too. I never had the chance to zone out because I was constantly thinking of the least painful/complicated way to run the next rotation. We normally just go ride to ride to ride...but there were some gimps who could only work certain rides and I tried not to make people work the swings more than once a shift because, as someone who got stuck working them four or five hours at a time in the summer...I know it sucks.

So uh...go me.

Unfortunately, standing outside for 7-8 hours a day in the cold, plus the time spent at Kennywood's Fright Nights on Saturday (I got home at four in the morning and had to work the next day) hasn't helped my itty bitty cold. In fact, its not so itty bitty anymore and I think I might actually be running a fever. Not a terrible one. But I'm sitting here in the Commonplace and everything is kinda...floaty. I slept for three hours after lunch with Fulleroni and I've been nursing a milky way latte for the past hour. Things should not be floaty.

It could also be my impending demise...or something.

Ok, turn away now if female talk makes you queasy.

I got my period on Saturday. Woohoo, right? Yeah. Except I'm not supposed to get it for like another two weeks. I haven't had sex since the Indiana/Derry game way back in the beginning of September and I've have my period since then, so its nothing wierd relating to that. Also, I'm done already. I started Saturday and I'm done today, Monday. Periods do not just stop after two days. Not even two days...more like a day and a half because it was Saturday night that it started. So...this, coupled with the fact that my past two or three rags have been utterly brutal (heavy, heavy bleeding and cramps that make me want to die) makes me think I should probably hit up a gyno or at the very least the health center here at IUPizzle.

Buuuuut I'm not.

I didn't even tell my mom because she always draws conclusions when it comes to anything relating to my vagina.

We'll see what happens in two or three weeks when I'm supposed to actually get a visit from my auntie Flo.

In the mean time, expect a shit ton of gratuitous picture posts in the near future. I got a new camera and its my current favorite toy.
