Watching As The World Resolves Around Me

Dec 15, 2005 14:20

So yeah I had a monsterous schedule yesterday. Let's see the results shall we?

So the practice went pretty well I have to say. My scene got some good laughs and Kate's seemed to get a few as well. Everyone seemed pretty on ball. I left after Meredith's scene only to come back to a car that had still not been dug out. Fuck. So I started freaking out, called my mom and got her opinion on rescheduling, and she seemed okay if it could be done but then it didn't seem possible so I went batshit looking for a ride.

Enter Laura, on her white horse. Saved my ass and dropped me off at the test center. And lo and fuckin behold, it was the wrong center. I screwed up. So the woman, although visibly losing patience with me, calmly tried to set things straight with the other place and was able to get me a 2:00 appointment. So everything seemed like it was going to be okay until I found no one with a car was available. (Well no one I knew how to contact anyway.) So I freaked out trying to get a ride, checked in every once in a while with Claire who helped keep me sane, and eventually realized I wasn't going to make it to the other place by 2. So I called ETS and rescheduled. Cost me another $115 and some of my sanity, but Laura saved my ass again. And we talked about how things were sorta serendipitous that day. If she hadn't had trouble sleeping she wouldn't have been available to drive me, and if I had dug out my car or rescheduled, we never would have gotten a chance to be goofy and bond in the car, which is an experience I treasure dearly. I seriously think serendipity is the word of the semester. And Andrea may agree with me on that one.

So I got back and decided it was time to dig out the car. I was able to after a long while, getting to talk to Loud for a little bit which was always nice, and then I made my way to dinner which was good times. Basic group, not bad.

Getting ready for the Marathon was slightly nervewracking but it went over really well. (Thanks much to everyone who came.) Very enjoyable, and I'm going to miss working with all of them. Hopefully some will be in my scenes class. The Marathon started with the scene I wrote and it got quite a few laughs including one or two big ones. That made me very happy and that happiness didn't really go away that night. I loved watching the work. And then afterward, chillin with Kate and Abby mostly, also Carolyn, Tom, Basil, Katy, Melissa, Meredith, Doug, Caitlin, Joe, Rosemary, and others. Joe was really cool and gave me a piece of candy. And mmmm banana chocolate chip cookies. What a night. I came back and basically chilled.

Lunch was fun today, Keith, Dhoover, Mike, and I tried to think of a horror movie for every letter of the alphabet, with help from the rest of the table, and we got to Y when I had to leave. The final...wasn't great, I won't lie, but it wasn't horrible either. I feel like I'm going to walk out of JCE with at least a high B/low B+. Then I went to the store to pick up some toiletries and I saw 3 Musketeers: the drink. It was actually really good though it got me in trouble with Carolyn. :-P Carolyn, Tom, Chris, Nikki, D'Arcy, and I think one other person who slips me for some reason even though I know that shouldn't be the case, were getting ready to play this online game thing (hope you guys had/are having fun by the way :)), Chris and I empathized with each other on the perils of asshole plowers. They are an awesome bunch and if they - and Stephanie, Ben, etc - are cool with it, maybe I'll spend more time with them next semester.

And now here I am, I was talking to Coz earlier and enjoying some mint Kit Kats. Life is good.

Peace.
PS, looks like I'm here till the 21st. Awww darn. ;) :P
